I would recommend this practice test to any of those who are taking the MCAT and need to "brush up" on their Verbal Reasoning skills. You'd think that Kaplan, Princeton Review, Examkrackers, Berkeley Review, [enter any prep program that forces you to fork over $1,000+ for its respective courses] would have extremely, extremely similar passages to the real ones produced by the AAMC. Yet those passages by the aforementioned are OK. On the other hand, TS-1 has VR passages that are quite challenging--like the real thing! Now, some of you who do, in fact, download these tests may feel as if you're at a disadvantage to read and/or take the exam via Kindle on your phone or tablet. It's a slight inconvenience, but be rest assured that you can download Kindle for your PC or Mac (as the TS peeps would suggest that you do), so that you can treat the TS exam like an actual MCAT exam that you'd take online. I guarantee that for the great price and quality, TS is worth any aspiring physician's while!

I have many good things to say about this test. First, content-wise, it seemed great! The difficulty level was about average. However, compared to the EK 101, it was definitely more difficult. (I cannot really comment about other companies such as BR or Kaplan because I did not use them). Second, the answer key was very thorough in explaining the solutions (This is the part where this test stands out from EK 101!).There could be more improvements too though. For instance, I just wish that it was offered in AAMC style format (2 half screens). However, the current format (using PC Kindle) is not that bad either. So it is not a huge set back.Overall, I felt like this test by Testing Solutions was a very, very, VERY good value for its price!!!Also, I also love how they are doing a promotion where you get all 5 tests for the price of one (TS-1). Thank you!! I would recommend this product to anyone who finds the verbal section of the MCAT difficult.

I had been following Testing Solution's 30 Days CARS Guide on SDN and after using up all of my other materials turned to their own products. I believe this very test is an accurate representation of the AMCAS passages and is much better than ExamKrackers 101 or the NextStep Products. The TS T1 test included passages that weren't always interesting like those of EK and weren't as dense and difficult as NextStep. Some claim that TS's test is slightly harder than those of AMCAS but to be completely honest, the denser passages are a good way to push you to work harder and faster during the test. Many have been commenting that the Kindle format is too difficult to use/not ideal, but I think its absolutely fine. If you follow TS's instructions on how best to use their product in their introduction, you'll instantly become familiar with their buttons. The only downside is that when I pull up the entire passage to fit in my screen (13"), the words seem a lot smaller than they would in the AMCAS test-taking platform. But in the grand scheme of things, its not the word size that's going to prevent you from getting into medical school!

Testing Solutions have done a good job in creating Verbal exams that match the types of questions that you see on the practice AAMCs. The passages are on the tougher side and the style of writing in the passage is a bit repetitive (it seems that most of their passages come from a similar source/author). However, the tests really shine in the way the questions are phrased and the answer explanations. I have taken plenty of verbal passages from Princeton Review, Exam Krackers, Berkeley Review and Kaplan and I would rate these highly on the list (Testing Solutions=Princeton Review=Exam Krackers>Berkeley Review>Kaplan). If someone was to slip me this exam, I would not be able to tell the difference between these and the AAMCs...until I received my score. Some of the questions are much trickier than the real test. I average 2-3 points lower on these than I do on the AAMC Verbals, Princeton Reviews and the Exam Krackers.Pros:- Well formatted questions. Seem very similar to what you see on the practice AAMCs. It will prepare you well for those exams.- Extremely well done answer explanations. Answers are very well organized and each wrong answer choice is explained well. None of the huge paragraphs you would find in Berkeley Review.- Overall, the tests are much tougher than AAMCs, even more than AAMC 8 and 11 Verbal. The passages will take you longer to read and the questions will kick your mental butt. I appreciate challenging material, so this is a positive.- Great Value, cheaper alternative to purchasing an entire course.Cons:- Passages are a bit repetitive in terms of style.- Formatting on the Kindle Reader is very frustrating. I used the Kindle Desktop app and was really annoyed. Questions and Passages are split up into multiple pages, making it hard to be accurate in terms of timing. I have heard that they are coming out with an electronic testing program, that should fix this issue.- These seem to keep increasing their price on these tests so I would jump on them immediately. Test 1 was free 2 weeks ago on their website, it's now $4. Test 2, 3 and 4 used to be $2 on Amazon, now they are $3.I would use these tests along side AAMCs and Verbal Self Assessments. These tests have better representative questions and explanations than any material out there (Yes, even the much touted Princeton Review and Exam Krackers). However, their passage material is harder to comprehend and not as diverse as some other prep companies. If you start seeing sevens and eights on these tests, don't freak out. These are much harder in my experience than the real test.
